Book Reviews
Apr 1st, 2012 by smarks
After reviewing blogs of friends, I realized, since I have been reviewing books, I should have a bit of a policy on what I will accept and what it means when I get an ARC copy.
I accept ARC, in print and ebook editions of books.
Right now I acquire books from Book Expo and LibraryThing. Books I get at Book Expo come with no expectation to write a review, but I try to write them anyway. Books I get from LibraryThing (the Early Review program) do require that I give some type of review for the LibraryThing network. Reviews, other than appearing here, appear on GoodReads and LibraryThing
Rather than telling you what I will accept, I would rather say what I will not. Mostly because I may be willing to read anything given my mood:
- Christian/Judaic/Muslim fiction – even those with just strong religious undertones
- Christian/Judaic/Muslim nonfiction (unless about historic event)
- Romance
- Parenting/ educating children
- Children’s lit
- Anything promoting hate/prejudice
I reserve the right to say no to any book for any reason I wish. If you send me a request to read something from one of the above genres/themes I reserve the right to ignore you.
Keep in mind, I have that Book Lust challenge and my own extensive TBR list. Check this page to see if I am even taking requests for reviews.
